Why assess posture?
Your Body Works as a Connected System
Posture is not about holding one visually “perfect” position. How you stand and move is influenced by strength, mobility, muscle balance, daily habits, occupation, prolonged sitting, training history, previous injuries, pregnancy, postpartum changes, ageing, menopause and the movement patterns you repeat every day.
A posture and movement assessment can identify movement patterns, or strength and mobility limitations, that affect your exercise technique, efficiency and comfort. Appropriate movement, strength training, mobility work and regular physical activity support overall physical function, circulation, musculoskeletal health and general wellbeing.

What's assessed
A complete picture of how you move
- Static postural observation (front, side and back views)
- Dynamic movement assessment
- Range of motion and mobility measurements
- Functional strength assessment
- Muscle balance and left / right comparison
- Movement quality and control
- Exercise technique review
- Lifestyle, occupation and daily movement factors
- Life-stage considerations
- Progress tracking and scheduled reassessment
HERFORM assesses posture and movement to guide safe, individualised fitness and exercise programming. Where an observation, symptom or limitation sits outside a fitness scope, assessment by an appropriate healthcare professional — such as your GP, a physiotherapist or a women's / pelvic-health physiotherapist — is recommended before progressing that area.
Life stages
Posture Through Every Stage of a Woman's Life
01
Young Adult
- Establishing strong movement patterns and technique early
- Building a base of strength, mobility and control
- Balancing study, desk work and prolonged sitting
- Developing confidence with resistance training
HERFORM does not diagnose pelvic-floor dysfunction, diastasis recti, scoliosis or any other medical condition. Where findings or symptoms require clinical assessment, referral to your GP, a physiotherapist or a women's / pelvic-health physiotherapist is recommended.
How it works
Assess. Understand. Strengthen. Reassess.
01
Pre-assessment screening
Health history, exercise history, current discomfort, life stage and your goals — including appropriate pre-exercise screening. If anything sits outside a fitness scope, the assessment is paused and clearance or referral is recommended first.
02
Static postural observation
Front, side and back observations from head to feet, recorded region by region with notes. Photos are only taken with your separate, explicit consent.
03
Dynamic movement assessment
Everyday movement patterns — squat, sit-to-stand, hip hinge, lunge, step-up, push, pull, overhead reach, single-leg balance and gait where appropriate — rated for technique, control and left / right difference.
04
Mobility and strength measurements
Range of motion recorded in degrees where measured, left versus right, plus functional strength tests selected to suit you — never the same test forced on every woman.
05
Your movement snapshot
A clear, client-friendly summary: strengths, focus areas, measurable goals, your recommended HERFORM plan and a scheduled reassessment date.
Your movement snapshot
Clear findings, in plain language
After your assessment you receive a summary with your strengths, the areas HERFORM may focus on through exercise, movement education and strength training, three to five measurable movement goals, and your recommended plan.
Recommended plan may include
- Strength sessions
- Mobility work
- Postural awareness and movement education
- Home exercise program
- Remedial massage where appropriate
- Scheduled reassessment
Progress you can see
Baseline to latest, measured
Every assessment is saved to your private HERFORM account and never overwritten, so mobility, strength, movement control and functional capacity are tracked separately and compared over time — real measurements, not a made-up posture score.
